I am writing with my deepest regrets to announce the recent passing of Derek Horne, who as many of you will know, had the idea to create the original cable window restrictor. Derek had been suffering from illness for a few months, but eventually was unable to keep up what was an extremely valiant fight. Former owner of Jackloc, Emma Wells said “ Dad had led a very enjoyable life and achieved more than most in his 80 years”
Since the creation of the original cable window restrictor by Derek in 2003, The Jackloc Company Limited has gone from strength to strength to become a world-renowned and market-leading safety product. Initially grown through the dedication of his daughters, Emma, and Judith, and the late Deborah, in 2019 the business was sold to Eric Collins & Jit Singh, who have both continued to build on the legacy and continued to retain Jackloc’s position as the worlds leading window safety device.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to Derek’s family at this difficult time.
